Cajun and Sumac Skyr Chicken Marinade

A tangy, herb-filled marinade using Skyr and a blend of bold spices to keep chicken breast tender and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 350 g chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon Skyr yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon high quality mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sumac
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Steps

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the Skyr yoghurt, mustard, lemon juice, honey, and minced fresh garlic.
  2. Add the Cajun seasoning, paprika, sumac, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley to the bowl and stir until well combined.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring every surface is thoroughly coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, though 2-4 hours is ideal for the best flavor penetration.
  5. Cook chicken at 200C in the air fryer for 10 minutes flipping halfway through. Airfryer should be preheated for a few min.
  6. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.
