A simple and timeless recipe for light, airy pancakes that are golden-brown and delicious.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 3.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1.25 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
Steps
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, and melted butter; mix until smooth but do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look dry, then flip and cook until browned on the other side.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, butter, or fresh fruit.
