Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked short-grain rice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 cup spinach, blanched and seasoned with a touch of sesame oil and salt
  • 1 cup bean sprouts, blanched and seasoned with a touch of sesame oil and salt
  • 1 carrot, julienned and sautéed with a bit of sesame oil and salt
  • 1 zucchini, julienned and sautéed with a bit of sesame oil and salt
  • 1 small cucumber, julienned
  • 200g thinly sliced beef, marinated in Bulgogi sauce and cooked
  • Alternatively, use cooked and shredded chicken, pork, or tofu
  • 2-4 fried eggs
  • Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste), to taste
  • Sesame oil, to taste

Steps

  1. Prepare all the vegetables by blanching and sautéing them as needed. Season with a touch of sesame oil and salt. Julienne the carrot, zucchini, and cucumber.
  2. If using beef, marinate the thinly sliced beef in Bulgogi sauce and cook it until done.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked rice with sesame oil and sesame seeds. Fluff the rice to ensure it's evenly coated.
  4. Assemble the Bibimbap bowls: Divide the seasoned rice into serving bowls. Arrange the sautéed and seasoned vegetables, cooked meat, and julienned cucumber on top of the rice.
  5. Place a fried egg on top of each bowl.
  6. Drizzle a bit of sesame oil and Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) over the toppings, to taste.
  7. To eat, use a spoon to mix all the ingredients together, ensuring that the flavors are well combined.
  8. Enjoy the Bibimbap hot, mixing the ingredients as you eat.
