By James Rotanson

Japanese · Dinner · Easy · 20 min · 11 ingredients

Succulent salmon fillets glazed with a rich, homemade sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, ready in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 1 stalk Green onions, sliced

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch until well combined.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season very lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the pan, skin-side up, and sear for 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  5. Carefully flip the salmon fillets and pour the prepared teriyaki sauce into the skillet.
  6. Cook for another 3-4 minutes while continuously spooning the sauce over the salmon as it bubbles and thickens into a glaze.
  7. Remove from heat once the salmon is cooked to your preference and the sauce has a syrupy consistency. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
