Garlic Butter Sautéed Mushrooms

Tender mushrooms sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce with a hint of fresh herbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cremini or white button mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or parsley
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Steps

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel and slice them if they are large.
  2. Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the mushrooms to the skillet in a single layer and cook without stirring for 3-4 minutes until browned on one side.
  4. Stir the mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they release their moisture and brown further.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, then add the remaining butter and minced garlic.
  6. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs, then serve immediately.
