Classic Creamy Hummus

A smooth and velvety chickpea dip blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic for a perfect Mediterranean snack.
Ingredients
- 1 15oz can canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 0.25 cup tahini
- 0.25 cup lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 0.5 tsp ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cold water
Steps
- In a food processor, combine the tahini and lemon juice and process for 1 minute until creamy.
- Add the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, and salt. Process for another 30 seconds, scraping down the sides if necessary.
- Add half of the chickpeas to the food processor and process for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides, then add the remaining chickpeas and process until the mixture is thick and quite smooth.
- With the processor running, add the cold water 1 tablespoon at a time until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust salt or lemon juice if needed. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika.
